Do I need a therapist?
Unfortunately there is no definitive answer to this question. If you feel that you need some help and support through speaking to a therapist, then it may well be the case that you do need a therapist.
However there are tools you can I thought to myself I really need to do something about this, I need some therapy use to help you assess how you are feeling at the moment and whether you might benefit from seeing a therapist.
The CORE-10 is a brief screening measure consisting of questions which aim to assess your level of psychological distress, including your well-being, symptoms, functioning and risk.
As well as your level of psychological distress it is also helpful to ask yourself how motivated you are to make changes in your life. This questionnaire from the website ‘Get Selfhelp’ can help you to do this.
